APP-V Error 25120 on installation - unable to create the required IIS Virtual Directory

"Error 25120. The installation program was unable to create the required IIS Virtual Directory”

I received this error when trying to install APP-V 4.5 SP1 onto a Windows 2008 R2 server.
The problem was that I had installed web server role (IIS) with defaults. APP-V requires some older IIS 6 components to function.

The required IIS 6 components are
IIS 6 Metabase Compatibility and IIS 6 Management Console

Just adding these to the server role after IIS Install however does not work however, I had to remove the ISS role from the server. (REBOOT) Delete the INETPUB directory. Then add the Web Server role again ensuring this time to tick the IIS6 option above.

This then allowed me to install APP-V 4.5 SP1 all OK.

    I did this no dice. Anything else you can think of, I'm getting the same issue with 4.6.
