Manage Per User File associations

To manage per user file associations via GPO preferences manage the following registry key area.

eg. .JPG file association to office picture viewer

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.jpg\OpenWithProgids
OISjpegfile = Blank REG_BINARY


HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.jpg\UserChoice
Progid = Applications\ois.exe
