I recently had a requirement to install the Citrix VDA agent onto some physical PCs to allow remote access for users through the xendesktop solution.
This seems simple enough and is a tidy solution to replace the normal VPN and RDP type solutions.
However after install the VDA Agents onto the physical device its screen resolution dropped down, and it could not run dual screens.
After some research it appears that the VDA 5.5 caused this issue. We had updated it to 5.6 FP1 and beyond but this was no good it had been screwed by the 5.5 VDA.
The answer was to un-install everything and install just the 5.6 FP1 installer. (5.6.100)
This install technique should however not be performed on Virtual Desktops. This should have 5.5 then 5.6 SP1 and then additional patches.
There is a brianmadden blog about how silly it is that the install for physical and virtual are different.
Citrix also have some detail on here
