While performing some testing on Appsense Performance Manager and its trick of Memory Trimming (which is the same as minimising an application and then maximising it again)
I noticed on testing that Server 2008 R2 seems to incorporate this memory trimming feature into the OS.
A few quick tests of Word 2007 and Excel 2007 with appsense performance manager disabled and enabled showed very little difference in the memory useage. I was testing with Appsense V8
This does require further testing but could well mean the Performance Manager Memory Trimming function is not required on 2008 servers. The Appsense Performance Manager product also perform Memory rebasing of DLL along with CPU controls so these will need to be re-evaluated as well.
