Restarting the Application Virtulisation Management Service corrected the problem. This then occured some time later on another VAS server.
The only pattern we could see prior to the failure is an Event ID 2001 Warning.(see screenshot below)
Unable to Read the disk performance information from the system.
We have not come up with a permanent fix for this yet, in the meantime we are using edgesight to alert us if the event log entry comes up.
The App-V error is complaining "The storage control block address is invalid". Similar reports were also solved by rebooting, either the VAS or a firewall in the path. It might be interesting to restart the VAS service instead of rebooting. If this also resolves the issue it would be worthy of opening a ticket with Microsoft. We had the core process issue in 4.5 that they resolved via hotfix and perhaps this is related. Tim Mangan

ReplyDeleteUpping the logging level might help our investigations, but it will fill disk space quickly and requires a restart of the service (which would fix the problem!).
